Wear A Summer Dress In The Fall!

Today’s September Style post is all about how to transition your summer pieces right into your fall wardrobe. It’s not cold, it’s not hot- just that little in between that always seems hard to dress for. Here’s one of my favorite looks for the changing season-

[ Shirt Dress: Express | Polka Dot Scarf: Sweet Potatoes Boutique | Top: LF
| Boots: All saints | Bag: Chanel ]

I’ve taken one of my favorite summer dresses [also blogged in this post] and warmed it up with this loose long sleeve shirt. A polka dot scarf and ankle boots finish off the look. You can continue to wear warmer weather dresses like this if you pair them with cardigans or sweaters. Chunkier pieces over skirts is especially big this fall- layer it over a flirty dress as it gets colder to recreate the look. When in doubt: Layer, then switch up into more fall like accessories!

UPDATE: Today is my last full day in NYC for fashion week and it seriously couldn’t be more excited! Today is the Alice + Olivia presentation [FINALLY my first time getting to go- I’m never in town during it!] and then tonight I’m going to a dinner for the The Face on Oxygen [a modeling competition show]. It’s a smaller dinner with Nigel Barker and the new mentors [Anne V, Lydia Hearst] and we’re getting our celebration on since it’s premiering in early 2014 [watch it only on the oxygen network]. I’ve been looking forward to it all week! What could make this day even better? Pre-dinner manis with Allie and blow outs at drybar with Katy! I’m seriously being spoiled today. Follow me on instagram for all of the fun!

  1. Sounds like you’re having an AWESOME time in NYC! Tonight’s dinner will be fun!

I initially found you on YouTube and subscribe and love your channel & videos. Your new apt is SO NICE (love the floors as well 😉 and the view of Chi Town is stunning (wow!).

Love this look, I totally have a similar floaty, chiffon-y dress and of course a sweater comparable to this so I’ll give this type of look a go. Thnx for the inspiration and keep up the great vlogging & blogging!

BIG HUG from Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA 🙂
