MY STYLE DIARY: HOPE AND A FUTURE

The photos below were taken on one of the most important [and stressful!] days of my life. I had a huge meeting that I THOUGHT was at 3:30pm, only to get a call while shooting this post that everyone was actually sitting in the office waiting for me! I’m NEVER late for work, especially when it comes to something I had been prepping for weeks, so they knew something was off. Thankfully, they waited for me and I made it across town and the rest is history..

kind of. It’s all still coming together, but I can’t wait to share what I’ve been working on. That’s a post I’ll save for another day 🙂

I wanted my outfit to match how significant this day was in my life. The [potential] start of new beginnings. The [potential] start to an entire new direction in my career. One of the things I always say is ‘dress for the person that you want to be’..

I think I nailed it.

I’m in a stage where so much is starting, but none of these things would be possible if other things hadn’t come to an end. When I think of this outfit, this day, this entire moment of my life- I think of Jeremiah 29:11;

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future”.

I had no intentions of being in California a year ago, and now I’m living in LA, pursuing dreams I didn’t even know I had. I look back and see all of the things that I thought I wanted [and I’m so thankful that they didn’t go how I wanted] ..they all brought me to this point.

God has a plan for you even if you can’t see it. You don’t have to know what you’re going to do with the rest of your life. You don’t have to know what you’re doing for the next five years. All you have to do is what has been put in front of you, and do it to the best of your ability. Don’t be afraid of those dark moments, because that low point might just be the start of your next great adventure.

  1. Congrats, Carly! So excited to see what’s in store for you. I also love that verse – I think it’s sometimes a hard lesson to learn (trust in God’s plans for you) but everything always works out the way it has to! Love your blog & videos, keep up the amazing work! xx -Kelly
