I had the exciting opportunity to shoot with Vidal Sassoon Pro Series in NYC earlier this year. I wanted to recreate styles for my viewers that were easy to do for every day, yet could switch up your style. In my case, I JUST cut my bangs- I wanted a look that could be easy to replicate on my own, as well as a style that could be edgy and high fashion [ithout being an actual fashion cut]. Here’s what we came up with!
Tips for Flat Ironing:
1. Work in Small Sections
If you’re like me, you tend to just grab large chunks and run the iron continuously over your ends. You’re actually supposed to work in small sections all over your head. It seems like it would take much longer, but you’re actually spending less time and less heat on each section.
2. Hold your hair out and iron on an angle
Ironing your hair to the side helps the hair lay more natural as opposed to that stick-straight broom appearance. This tip has helped a TON in my ironing!
3. Iron your bangs to the opposite side
This tip is what shocked me the most- I wear my bangs parted to the right- but the trick is to iron them to the left, flipping them at the end. This creates more volume in your style!
Now, the edgy style!
What do you think? I like that it’s completely different than my usual look, wearable yet not permanent! Would you wear it?

I like that this way you can experiment with an edgier look without the full commitment. It would be fun to see a tough hairstyle like this with a softer more feminine outfit.
