Pearl necklaces are a classic staple in any wardrobe. A long strand like this is a great investment for your closet because you can wear it so many ways. It doesn’t have to be an expensive purchase either- I got mine from Target! It’s simple, inexpensive, && adds immediate grace and glamour to an otherwise basic outfit.
I created the backwards drape with my necklace one day because I was trying to accessorize an open back tank I had. I ended up loving how it turned out! Start by place the necklace as usual. Hold the two sides of the necklace and cross them over eachother, securing the cross section with some form of charm/ribbon/locket. Flip the lower section around your neck as you would to create a double strand appearance, but instead of evening them to resemble 2 similar sized strands, you pull the ‘second strand’ to the back. The front is a draped, cascading pearl necklace while the back is a modern take on the classic Audrey Hepburn look!
Which way is your favorite? I love the backwards drape because it’s unique, interesting && adds instant drama to any open back top. But the way I most often wear it is the simple long style 🙂
