Fall Fashion and Styling with Macy’s

Earlier in September, I was able to shoot an ad for Macy’s which was an incredible experience in and of itself- but later I also teamed up with Macy’s to style their Impulse department. Impulse is their section that’s filled with inexpensive, on-trend brands that are great if you’re looking for cute pieces that won’t break the bank. I love opportunities like this where I can style outfits that are truly fashionable, wearable and most importantly- affordable!

It wouldn’t be an event of mine without turning it in to a full blown party! We had a full on fall fashion celebration at Macy’s State Street location in Chicago, complete with models [from my agency!] wearing the looks, cupcakes, and- of course- you guys! I was so incredibly humbled to meet each and every one of you that came out for the event. Styling is my passion and what I do, but meeting my viewers is the best gift I could ever ask for 🙂

I took some photos of a few of the outfits I put together, as well as some shots with my friends and family who came out to celebrate this huge milestone in my styling career. Here they are!

I wanted to create a mix of looks that ranged from casual and relaxed, to dressy and chic. All of these looks were pulled from the Impulse department and styled in a way that I feel reflects a truly upscale, classy and relaxed woman- who knows how to be stylish on a budget! Hopefully these looks can inspire you with your own outfits for fall!

  1. Those are so fun! I’m a little too pregnant at the moment to enjoy any of those clothes. I love all the looks and clothing but my favorite has to be the patchwork plaid look. And I can’t tell but that looks like actual flannel to me. It looks so cozy and perfect for fall!

    • Hey Melissa,

Clearly I’m creeping around so first off sorry! So far from knowing a whole lot in the fashion industry but I just had to give my 2 cents! The great thing about fashion is there are literally modifications to everything! No matter if you’re preggers, have some junk in the trunk or aren’t as full up top as some of us would like you can incorporate many of these pieces into your wardrobe based on your body size and what you want and don’t want to accentuate.

I’m going to help you visualize. Starting from the top, the infinity scarf, oversized sweater leggings and boots. If I was pregnant I could definitely see myself living in this {I mean I already do} it’s baggy, breathable and comfy for you and baby, oversized pieces are great, it’s like all the freedom of being naked…erm but not. The Tribal dress and jacket: the dress looks to have draw strings {not sure} but the pattern would work well with your baby bump and although you might think the draw strings bringing attention to your babester is a bad thing, it’s not rock the bump! Romper again stretchy breathable looks great with flats, why not? LBD if you’re dressing up, an elegant simple little black dress is perfect there’s no need to hide your little creation. The plaid shirt and jeans are my favorite too, perfect for just lounging around and perfect for running around town. Go shop! Haha I know I’m about to.

  2. I absolutely love your style carly! It is a perfect mix of casual and edgy and comfy and sophisticated and a whole bunch more! I find that i tend to be resorting to this more and more expecially being a freshmen in college. The easiest ways to be comfy and still look good are on the top of my list!!

    Keep up the awesomeness!
