DIY Valentine Rose Pens

Hello, Gorgeous

Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite days of the year! What’s not to love about.. well.. LOVE! And flowers, and candy, and pink && red, and hearts, and cheesy decorations!?! UGH I love all of it πŸ™‚

I think people get upset about Valentine’s because maybe you don’t have that ‘special person’ in your life or you’re currently single (aka fabulous), but that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate too! I give gifts to EVERYONE I love on this special day- friends AND family included.

You know how everyone gave homemade gifts and cards in kindergarten to all their friends? Yeah, well, I never stopped. My crafts just got a lot more advanced.

The wonderful thing about these is that they look like flowers- the typical, perfect valentine present- but these last forever AND are useful! They are pens!

Instead of the usual roses in water, these are rose pens in candy hearts! You can eat the ‘water’ and keep the pens! Or just display the item on your desk as long as you’d like!

I once had a set of flower pens that I kept on a shelf in my bedroom when I was younger. They were always so PRETTY to look at, I had to try and recreate them myself- and what better gift to give!? I made this for my mom and my sister. I always make my mom different presents each year, and my sister works in an office so these are perfect to sit on her desk!

I’ll post a video tutorial on how to create these pens, but the items you need are:

1. Fake flowers (they don’t HAVE to be roses, you can get creative! Match your ribbon to your flower of choice)
2. Cheap ballpoint pens (you can get them in bags for $1.99)
3. Floral Stem tape ($1.99 at craft stores, but imagine my shock when I discovered it wasn’t actually sticky..)
4. Glue stick (to keep the ‘tape’ in place)
5. Vase
6. Candy hearts
7. Ribbon

These end up costing under $20 overall and are definitely a unique present.

Spritz ’em with perfume- they’ll smell just as good πŸ™‚

So don’t be depressed on Valentine’s day! Celebrate LOVE and every single person you care about πŸ™‚

C’est fini
xox,
Carly
